Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep v.s. Blade Runner

Phillip K. Dick's Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep is an amazing novel and Ridley Scott's Blade Runner is an equally amazing adaptation of the novel. Watching Blade Runner after reading the novel, I felt that the movie was a loose adaptation of the Dick's novel. The director left out many elements that were mentioned in the novel  such as: erstaz animals, Mercer, Kipple and more. Although a loose adaptation I feel that the director tried his best to illustrate the author's intentions and the novel, especially the message of humanity and how one can be defined as human. The director also did a great job of conveying the dark tone and mood, much like a detective noir feeling. One main thing i felt that the director changed was focus. What I mean is that in the novel the focus was on Deckard and Isodore and from there we try to find out with them what makes one "human". While in the movie, the director focused more on the Andy's (Or Replicants as they are referred to in the movie)and Deckard is used as a plot element to keep the story going. From there the director gives us the decision to decide whether they are indeed just androids or are they something more.
